What: 4th Annual Cocktails 4 a Cause
When: Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012
Where: Tribeca Grand Hotel
Why: To Raise Funds & Awareness for Wine to Water
The 4th Annual Cocktails 4 a Cause was held at a new venue, Tribeca Grand Hotel, on October 2nd. The room was adorned in bright pink rose petals in true City Chicks 4 Charity style.
This year’s event raised over $20k for Wine to Water, a 501(c)(3) non-profit aid organization focused on providing clean water to needy people around the world. Nearly 1 billion people in the world today lack access to adequate water and 2.5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation. They are devoted to fighting this epidemic. Wine symbolizes fortune in our society and their goal is to give the fortunate population an opportunity to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves. With ticket sales alone we were able to build a well in Ethiopia that will provide 500 people with a clean water source for life!
The event was attended by 200 guests who drank, ate and danced the night away thanks to our amazing sponsors: Barefoot Wine, Palm Beer, Riazul Tequila, Titos Vodka, and Vita Coco. This year’s silent auction was one of our best with the chance to win Book or Mormon Tickets, a Stella and Dot Necklace, Michael Kors bag, and Tour GCX package to name a few items.
An enormous THANK YOU to everyone that attended, donated and supported the event and this fantastic cause. We can’t wait to get started on next year’s event!
What: Spring Out of Your Shell; City Chicks 4 Charity Take Social Networking Offline
When: May 2nd. 2012
Benefiting: The It Get’s Better Project
On Wednesday May 2nd, City Chicks 4 Charity as well as our friends and supporters gathered at Hudson Terrace to generate funds and awareness for the It Get’s Better Project (http://www.itgetsbetter.org/). The event challenged attendees to come out from behind their Facebook and Twitter screens to network in person. Eight amazing attendees (including Miss NYC) were our ‘socialites’ of the evening with real Pintrest boards created for each of them. Event attendees could ‘friend request’ these eight people, placing them in a raffle to win amazing prizes including Best Buy, Sephora, and Amazon giftcards!
The event was a huge success raising over $2000 for the It Get’s Better Project! Attendees had a great time drinking, socializing, and learning more about this amazing organization.
The It Get’s Better Project was created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach – if they can just get through their teen years. The It Gets Better Project wants to remind teenagers in the LGBT community that they are not alone — and it WILL get better.
We want to thank all of guests and our amazing sponsors: Riazul Tequila, VitaCoco, PopChips, Ricardo’s Ocean Grill, and SocialPakt.

When: April 18th, 2012
What: Raising Funds for Multiple Children Charity Organizations
City Chicks 4 Charity were honored to be a part of the 10th Annual BTIG Commission for Charity Day. The day was star studded with everyone from Kelly Ripa and Michael J Fox to Eli Manning and Nick Swisher. The brokerage firm announced that they raised over $4.5 million in support of some amazing children based charity organizations.
"Each year we are thrilled to be able to bring together the children’s charities, athletes and celebrities for this event. The results in our 10th year speak to the continued commitment from the firm and our supporters, especially our clients, to working toward positive change in the communities around us,” said Steven Starker, Co-Founder of BTIG. “We thank everyone for their efforts in not only making this day possible but a continued success.” (Yahoo Finance)
The children that were able to attend the event did not leave empty handed. These amazingly strong and brave children left the BTIG offices with signed baseballs, footballs, and huge smiles. It was most certainly a day that none of us will ever forget.

When: Saturday Dec 3rd
Where: St Joseph’s Soup Kitchen
On a bright Saturday morning, City Chicks 4 Charity ventured out to Greenwich Village to spread a little holiday cheer. With our aprons and rubber gloves on, we chopped onions for the meatballs, buttered bread, and cut cakes for dessert. We spent the morning cooking and preparing a hearty meal of baked ziti and meatballs, Notre Dame coleslaw, and donated pies. When the time came to open the doors, the kitchen smelled of delicious food. City Chicks 4 Charity and the other volunteers served this amazing lunch to over 400people.
The Soup Kitchen has been operating in Casserly Hall every Saturday for about 20 years. Meals are always prepared with the help of an army of volunteers from different churches and faiths working under the supervision of one of their rotating head chefs. St Joseph’s strives for nutritionally balanced, hearty meals and whenever possible, include fresh vegetables and salads. The guests range from fixed-income local residents and the elderly, to street people who are truly suffering. All are welcome, and the food is 100% free.
To learn more, or to volunteer at the Soup Kitchen, visit www.stjosephsoupkitchen.org or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The day was an unbelievable experience that we most definitely will partake in again!
