City Chicks 4 Charity

City Chicks 4 Charity (CC4C) is a non-profit organization founded by young, active career driven women who are looking to give something back to the community while balancing a busy professional and social life. Our goal is to provide other young metropolitan area professionals a friendly and fun environment to engage with a unique variety of charitable endeavors. The charity lends its time, money and efforts to various non-profit organizations around the world dependent upon the passions of our members, current affairs and pre-established partnerships of our sponsors.

When: Saturday Dec 3rd

Where: St Joseph’s Soup Kitchen

On a bright Saturday morning, City Chicks 4 Charity ventured out to Greenwich Village to spread a little holiday cheer. With our aprons and rubber gloves on, we chopped onions for the meatballs, buttered bread, and cut cakes for dessert. We spent the morning cooking and preparing a hearty meal of baked ziti and meatballs, Notre Dame coleslaw, and donated pies. When the time came to open the doors, the kitchen smelled of delicious food. City Chicks 4 Charity and the other volunteers served this amazing lunch to over 400 people.

The Soup Kitchen has been operating in Casserly Hall every Saturday for about 20 years. Meals are always prepared with the help of an army of volunteers from different churches and faiths working under the supervision of one of their rotating head chefs. St Joseph’s strives for nutritionally balanced, hearty meals and whenever possible, include fresh vegetables and salads. The guests range from fixed-income local residents and the elderly, to street people who are truly suffering. All are welcome, and the food is 100% free.

What: 3rd Annual Cocktails 4 a Cause

When: Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Where: Marquee Night Club

Why: To Raise Funds for the Children’s Autism Hope Project

The 3rd Annual Cocktails for a Cause was held on Thursday, October 20th at Marquee Night Club in true City Chicks 4 Charity style! This year’s event raised over $30K for the Children’s Autism Hope Project. With the growing epidemic of autism in children, this organization is dedicated to researching the underlying causes and mechanisms of autism, using this knowledge to develop more effective treatments. We are extremely excited to present such a wonderful organization with funds to work towards their goal of a cure.

The event was attended by over 400 guests, our largest turnout yet! Special guests included Darryl Strawberry and Howard Cross who each support Autism related charities as well. Attendees drank and danced the night away thanks to our fantastic sponsors: Barefoot Wine, Camarena Tequila, Titos Vokda, Palm Ale, Pop Chips and Vita Coco. When guests weren’t mingling or dancing to the music of Ricardo Lima, they could be found placing bids on our Silent Auction items. Items included a Derek Jeter signed photograph, Tour GCX package, and an Interior Design consultation with Rebecca Tier Soskin Design.

A HUGE thank you to everyone that attended, donated, and supported. The event was a huge success thanks to your continued support and generosity.

St Clare’s 10th Annual Breast Cancer Walk, Sunday Sept 18 2011

On this brisk morning, a city chicks member and her family, along with a few thousand people (and canines!) gathered to support breast cancer diagnosis and treatment for St Clare’s Health System at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway, NJ. The 5k walk raised over $100,000, bringing their overall gross through the years to almost $1 million! Kristen and her family walked for the Advanced Digital Data Team, who again raised the most amount of money as a group- over $17,000! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this great cause- what a great day!

Join City Chicks 4 Charity for an open bar, light eats, live DJ, silent auction, and the best of NYC’s young professionals at Marquee. This year’s event will be benefiting The Children’s Autism Hope Project. With the growing epidemic of autism in children, this organization is dedicated to researching the underlying causes and mechanisms of autism, using this knowledge to develop more effective treatments and hopefully, one day, a cure.

We were so excited to learn that some of our favorite organizations were able to raise funds through Fashion Night Out, on September 8th in NYC!

As most of you know, we love the organization, Pencils of Promise! They were able to raise enough funds from the Dolce & Gabbana event, to build another school for underprivileged children! The place was filled with many familiar faces, including Justin Bieber who was on hand to support his fav cause.

Another one of our favorite highlights, was the Collab between Rachel Roy and Amare Stoudemire of the NYK. The Designer duo, was on hand shooting “hoops 4 a Cause” We appreciate our Philanthropic Fashionista’s, keep it coming!!

Vogue was there to capture it all: http://www.vogue.com/parties/

SAVE THE DATE! Our next big event!! Cocktails 4 a cause!

The day was absolutely amazing to watch unfold. Celebrities, charities, and a few families began arriving to the offices around 11am. The traders immediately took the celebs under their wings aiding them in trades, coaching them through each conversation. Celebrities also took the time to play with the children that were able to attend, high fiving and signing autographs. The day was absolutely amazing to be a part of, and we cannot wait to attend again next year!

Photos from the Spring into Action Event on April 17, 2011

Who: CC4C and Friends

What: Spring into Action Event

When: April 17, 2011

City Chicks 4 Charity hosted an event Sunday, April 17th to raise funds for the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund and Live to Love. The concept came together when we decided to have a more intimate event, leaving the cocktails behind and tying up our laces.

Our Spring into Action Event was held at Stepping Out Studios where attendees picked between four workout classes: Boot Camp taught by Jen Cassetty, Salsa Cardio taught by Martina Kocichova, Yoga taught by Erica Barth and Pilates taught by Dara Spitalny. The 45-minute classes were followed by a light lunch sponsored by Whole Foods where attendees heard from our trainers, the charities, and a wellness guide.

Carrie Lee, President of Live to Love told us how the organization began as a movement in the Himalayan region empowering the youth to make positive changes in their communities and is now an international network of non-political, secular, non-governmental organizations aimed at furthering the following five goals: (1) education, (2) medical services, (3) relief aid, (4) environmental protection and (5) heritage preservation. The organization builds schools to empower the women of these regions, as well as provide them with access to health clinics to provide traditional and modern health care. We are proud to announce that the event raised thousands of dollars for the two causes, and we had a great time while doing it!

A very special thanks to our sponsors: Whole Foods, Fitness Magazine, Stepping Out Studios, and Rosebud Lip Salve.
