With the sun actually shining, shocking given the rainy summer we have been subjected to thus far, a bunch of chicks and a handful of brave guys took to the Sty Town field for a friendly game of kick ball. With two outs and the plastic bases loaded, a tough chick from Team Two approached the plate. With a fiery pitch right down the center, Kristiana unleashed the big, red rubber ball and the crowd erupted!! Ok… maybe some cheers were fueled by the notation that this final score meant the start of the open bar but still the fans went wild none the less!!
With a graciously thank you to our host, organizers and passionate players we were off to the bar to continue the celebrations. Those who were stuck at work late or maybe a little shaky on their post grammar school kickback skills joined us at the bar. Looking around Quigley’s it was clear to see we were all there to spend time with old friends, meet some new ones and support a great cause. Our first ever co-ed outing was a huge success. We raised over $700 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation (http://ww5.komen.org/) and everyone had a great time, even the poor girl whose tube socks and short shorts proved more fashionable then functional when sliding into first (sick effort though.. Totally worth a little grass stain!). Thanks again to all the played, drank and laughed with us. We look forward to seeing you at the next event.
