On this brisk morning, a city chicks member and her family, along with a few thousand people (and canines!) gathered to support breast cancer diagnosis and treatment for St Clare’s Health System at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway, NJ. The 5k walk raised over $100,000, bringing their overall gross through the years to almost $1 million! Kristen and her family walked for the Advanced Digital Data Team, who again raised the most amount of money as a group- over $17,000! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this great cause- what a great day!

BTIG Charity Day~ May 2010

Everyone’s dreams came true last Wednesday when the Chicks were given the honor of partnering with BTIG during their annual Charity Day!  Each year, BTIG sets aside a day during which all commissions made are donated to some amazing charities such as The Starlight Foundation, Autism Speaks, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

BTIG has amazing celebrities come to the trading desk to make calls, take orders and yell “BUY THAT, SELL THAT!!!” … round of applause…and unfathomable amounts of money donated to kids in need!!  The Chicks spent time with the kids, introducing them to their heros like Michael Boley, Nick Swisher, Howard Cross, Bobby Valentine, Sean Avery, John McEnroe, Tuck and Cotchery.  The Sopranos were there, and so was Reggie Jackson!

The day really was a dream come true.. The kids wore smiles stretching from ear to ear, as did the amazing traders at BTIG who worked so hard to ring in almostFOUR MILLION DOLLARS all of which was donated to these amazing charities.  Such a job well done – thank you BTIG for letting the Chicks be part of such an amazing and beautiful day!!

Calling all animal lovers… This past Saturday, a few Chicks attended Les Compagnons’ wine tasting event at Bowery and Vine downtown. This clever brand, led by a young professional French duo, has selected a line of Boutique Wines, each bottle’s label adorned with an original illustration celebrating man’s best friend! With every purchase, Les Compagnon donates a portion of the sales price to one of four local charities: The Toby Project, Stray from the Heart, Gotham City Kitties and NY Save. Just to add to the cuteness and cleverness? Joining wine tasters at each event are adorable puppies up for adoption! You can bet that you will see us partner with these guys this year….and until then, please check them out by savoring a sip and saving life!http://www.lescompagnonswines.com/

NBC Universal Gift Wrapping ~December 2009

On December 2nd 2009, NBC Universal Digital and City Chicks 4 Charity partnered together to host a Holiday Gift Wrapping Workshop. This celebration held during Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center went to benefit BIg Brother’s and Big Sisters.  This was a great way to celebrate the holidays while helping those less fortunate.

Every year NBCU Digital invites its employees, friends and family to join them in experiencing the joy and festivities of the famed Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting. In these challenging times, NBCU Digital decided to take this opportunity to celebrate the generous spirit of the holiday season by joining forces with City Chicks 4 Charity to bring the joy of giving through a charity based party. . Party goers enjoyed premium spirits from Tommy Bahama and Prospero Wine, while snacking on delectable eats from PJ Clarke’s.  Guests also played fun holiday themed games and rocked to festive music.  All the gifts were donated to Big Brother’s Big Sisters.  Check our pics from the event and please join us at our upcoming 2nd annual gift wrapping party on Saturday December 19th!

Fre Arts Day, Harlem ~ May 2009

DATE:           Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

TIME:           10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

LOCATION:       The Children’s Aid Society

One rainy Saturday morning a bunch of Chicks met up in Harlem to spend the day with 75 amazing youngsters from the Children’s Aid Society as we celebrated the artist within!Through a fun-filled, interactive workshop, we and our buddies explored what it‘s like to be a fashion and jewelry designer, architect, sculptor and more. A little paint on our forearms, a little glue in our hair and a little glitter on our jeans, we were all smiles as we chatted and connected with our new little friends.

The hardest part of the day…wasn’t getting uptown at 9am on Saturday, wasn’t spending 5hrs in a gymnasium…it was saying goodbye to these remarkable little kids turned artists.

Thank you to Sarah Sabourin, the program Director for all her hard work in organizing these fantastic events and thanks to all the City Chicks for giving of themselves and their free time yet again – you girls rock!
